Hi! I’m Sylvester Tremmel, an editor and author for the German computer magazine c’t and its sister publication heise online.

I write mostly about Linux and open source, IT security, and topics adjacent to programming and software engineering. You can find some of my articles on my author’s profile. I also co-host a podcast on IT security.

Before becoming a journalist I worked in software engineering and systems administration. I studied Computer Science („Informatik“) and Philosophy of Science and Technology. I still enjoy the intersection of these fields and occasionally give seminars or talks on aspects of it.

Sometimes I post on Mastodon and you can reach me via e-mail (PGP) or Threema.
